Deutsche Messe’s strategies to increase profitability and outperform competition on a global scale

While most major service providers operate on local or regional levels, they are taking away market shares from global exhibition organisers. Deutsche Messe ranks among the five largest trade fair organisations worldwide, but it has been hit by global recession in 2008/2009.

 

Stephan Kühne, Member of the Board and responsible for finance, outlines Deutsche Messe’s strategies back to profitability and expansion plans beyond China and India. Taking Biotechnica as example Mr. Kühne describes how multiple expectations by exhibitors or visitors from rather heterogeneous industries can be managed.
